ABTH Invites Koboyo X Paula Sanz X Sam Ama at La Cité Fertile review – Sometimes Good Can Be Great

4 0f 5 PEACE OF MINDs

There is a charm to an early night gathering that mainstream clubbing often overlooks. When the music starts earlier, the energy shifts away from late-night endurance toward something lighter, more relaxed, and naturally social. The Abth Invite Koboyo X Paula Sanz X Sam Ama on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at La Cité Fertile delivered precisely that kind of atmosphere.

The Venue: La Cité Fertile

The standout element of the event was undoubtedly La Cité Fertile itself. Located in Pantin on a former eco-responsible railway site, the venue provides an expansive, open-air, and industrial backdrop that immediately sets a welcoming tone. The contrast of green spaces, repurposed structures, and raw architectural elements makes it one of the cooler settings in the Greater Paris area for a daytime or early evening gathering. It allows room to breathe, move, and connect with people without the tight enclosure of a standard basement club.

Sound, Light, and Music

If evaluated strictly on technical production, the evening of September 17 was somewhat modest. As Parisians, we are undeniably spoiled by the consistently high quality of local events and world-class artists available to us every damn weekend, which can naturally set our standards high:

  • Sound System: The acoustic setup lacked depth and clarity, leaving the low frequencies feeling a bit flat across the space.
  • Lighting: Rather minimal and uninspired, offering little in terms of atmospheric immersion or visual cohesion.
  • Musical Sets: The DJ sets were solid and competent, functional and pleasant enough to keep things moving, though without any particularly transcendent or groundbreaking moments.

Sometimes Good Can Be Great

Despite the technical shortcomings in sound and lighting, the overall experience was a resounding success. Above all, it was wonderful to get out on September 17, catch up with dear friends from the Paris Techno Purist community, and burn a few calories together on the dancefloor.

The strength of the location, paired with great company, an early schedule, and relaxed crowd energy, created a context where the technical flaws mattered very little. It served as a gentle reminder that an event doesn’t need flawless acoustic engineering or elaborate production to be a memorable experience. We walked away genuinely happy to have gone, proving once again that in the right setting with the right timing, sometimes good can be great.
