Friday, October 18th, 2024, we had the absolute privilege of witnessing Richie Hawtin perform a mind-blowing set at FVTVR in Paris. This was not just any set; it was a masterclass in techno, a demonstration of why Hawtin is considered one of the most influential figures in electronic music.
For two hours, Hawtin took us on a sonic journey through his signature style of deep, minimal techno. With BPMs ranging from 125 to 135, the music was driven by powerful basslines and intricate rhythms, with minimal melodies to distract from the hypnotic groove. It was clear that Hawtin was focused on delivering a truly immersive experience, and he succeeded in every way.
While Hawtin has explored different genres throughout his career, including a tech house phase that wasn’t universally praised, his performance at FVTVR was a testament to his enduring talent and ability to captivate audiences with his unique sound. This was undoubtedly one of the best sets we’ve ever heard him play, and it left us in awe of his artistry.
Before Hawtin took to the stage, Clara 3000 warmed up the crowd with a set that showcased her exceptional skills as a DJ. Clara 3000 set the mood for the night with her excellent rhythms and experimental moments. Her performance was a perfect prelude to Hawtin’s set and helped to create an unforgettable atmosphere.
If you’re a fan of techno or electronic music in general, we highly recommend checking out Richie Hawtin’s live performances. They are truly something special.
